Budgeting Costs and Returns for Southwest Florida Citrus Production, 2002-031
Abstract
Citrus budgets are tabulated annually for the Central, Indian River, and Southwest citrus production regions of Florida. The attached pdf file contains the budget costs for a sample citrus grove situation in Southwest Florida. Although the sample budget costs may not represent a particular grove situation, they represent the most current comparative cost estimates for citrus in Southwest Florida. Also, the budget costs for Southwest Florida represent an owner-managed operation.Besides providing the basis for many grower decisions, a budget analysis can be used to calculate potential profits from an operation and to determine the cash requirements for an operation and break-even prices.
