Figure 1. This boxer was bitten by an Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (a pit viper). When the dog arrived at the vet soon after the bite (A), the bite was bleeding and beginning to swell, and the dog was highly lethargic. After receiving proper medical treatment (B), this boxer was feeling much better and was able to return home.
