Chinaberry (Melia azederach) occurs primarily in disturbed areas such as rights-of-way and fencerows and has begun invading floodplain hammocks, marshes, and upland woods, particularly in north Florida. It is not statutorily prohibited, but it is listed as invasive by the Florida EPPC, and its use has been discouraged by the FNGA.
