Burmese pythons have a distinctive color pattern (light with dark brown blotches), and more rectangular-shaped heads than rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and water snakes. Large pythons are identifiable by their longer length (up to 7 m/23 ft.) and heavier body than native snakes.
