Figure 2. A) Never plant trees deeper than they were in the nursery. B) Plant even with the ground in well drained soil. C) In poorly drained or compacted soil, the top of the root ball should be slightly above the soil surface; add additional soil to cover the side of the root ball. You can't go wrong by planting shallow.
