This position involves a coordination responsibility for livestock/forage extension programs in the major beef production region of south Florida. Specific efforts involve a close working relationship with state faculty, county extension faculty, government agencies, and allied industry representatives. John Arthington's personal extension program involves the education of producers on cost-effective methods for supplementing grazing beef cows. Special emphasis is placed on the impacts of nutrition and management on stress resistance, immune competence, and reproductive and growth performance.
