Gulf Coast REC

<p>The <a href="http://www.irrec.ifas.ufl.edu/index.shtml">UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center</a>, or IRREC in Fort Pierce, is one of the 13 IFAS research and education centers. IRREC is known internationally for cutting-edge research and a high quality educational program and provides regional leadership to agriculturalists with research and extension programs. Specific research areas include: water and nutrient management for citrus and flatwoods soils; epidemiology and control of leaf and fruit diseases of citrus; evaluation of citrus and vegetable cultivars in Florida; utilization of soil amendments; micro-irrigation of horticultural crops in humid regions; leadership in citrus, vegetable and water management state extension programs on the east coast of Florida; economic production of agricultural products; post-harvest handling and packing of agricultural products; biological control of invasive plants and aquaculture.</p>

<a href="https://nfrec.ifas.ufl.edu/">The North Florida Research &amp; Education Center (NFREC)</a> is one of the largest and the most diverse units of UF/IFAS, consisting of research and education campuses in Quincy and Marianna, Florida. The research and extension programs at NFREC are designed to help agricultural and natural resource clientele adapt and manage resources and agricultural operations effectively and profitably in a changing socioeconomic and environmentally aware setting.

<p><span>The Southwest Florida Research and Education Center (SWFREC) is located in a vibrant agricultural region, one mile north of Immokalee and approximately 35 miles southeast of Fort Myers, where faculty and staff are actively conducting research programs in citrus horticulture, vegetable horticulture, irrigation and water resource management, precision agricultural engineering, pest management, plant pathology, citrus pathology, agricultural and natural resource economics, soil microbiology, plant physiology, weed science, soil science, and agricultural economics.</span></p>

Southwest Florida REC

<a href="http://trec.ifas.ufl.edu/">Tropical Research and Education Center(TREC)</a> was established in 1929 by an act of the state legislature in what is now Miami-Dade County. Due to the region's humid subtropical climate, TREC is the only state university research center in the continental U.S. focusing on a large number of tropical and subtropical crops. Also, the area's oolitic limestone soil is unique to extreme southern Florida.  In addition, the Center addresses water and environmental issues that impact crop production over a shallow aquifer and in proximity to Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Marine Park, Florida Bay and major well fields which provide drinking water to the several million people in neighboring urban areas.
