Chapter 2 - Cleaning Up after a Hurricane: Get the Right Tree Care Professional1
Eliana Kampf, Astrid Delgado and Mary L. Duryea2Abstract
Hiring the right tree care professional is a worthwhile investment when cleaning up after a storm. Often unqualified individuals, wanting to make a quick buck, solicit tree removal jobs. Because these individuals often do not have insurance or the proper training, they should be avoided. In contrast, a certified arborist has the proper training and insurance. Learning to identify the difference is the best way to avoid liability and irreparable damage to trees. This fact sheet discusses, in detail, the situations that require professional assistance and how to recognize, find and hire a certified arborist.
