Marchitez del laurel y escarabajo ambrosía

Esta devastadora enfermedad se ha extendido rápidamente a lo largo de la costa sureste de Estados Unidos desde 2003 y ha comenzado a afectar la producción comercial de aguacate en Florida. El marchitamiento del laurel se transmite por los escarabajos ambrosíacos y las raíces interconectadas de los árboles de aguacate. El tiempo desde la infección hasta la mortalidad de los árboles oscila entre cuatro y ocho semanas. Para evitar la propagación de la enfermedad, es importante destruir los árboles tan pronto como se vean afectados por la enfermedad.
